M & M's Spreadsheet
1. Open excel
2. Have the headings: Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Orange, Brown
– This time put the headings in a column starting
with cell A2. (Blue in A2, Green, in A3, Red in
A4 etc…
3. Open your M & M’s and count the colors and place your data in the correct cell. (Then you can eat them)
4. Get the data from each student in your class and place in your spreadsheet.
5. Change all data cell width to 5 and center the data.
6. Change the cells to that specific color. The whole row blue, to blue; the whole row green, to green etc…
7. Use the formula button to calculate how many M&M’s each person had.
8. Use the formula button to see how many blue M&M’s the whole class had as a group; How many green, etc…
9. Use the formula button to see the percentage of blue to the whole class. Green to the whole class.
10. Make a bar graph showing just your own data, and place the graph on a seperate sheet.
